Key Stage One

(Year 1, Year 2)

Year 2 Homework - 9th November 2020

In class this week we will be looking at different strategies for adding numbers together.

One strategy we will be practising is to use our number bonds to 10 to help us add on quickly.

Here is an example:

To add 8 + 7

Split 8 into 3 and 5

Put the 3 with the 7 to make 10 then add on the 5 to get the answer.

Try this method with these. Remember you are looking to split the numbers (partition) to make number bonds to 10 to help you add on quickly.

6 + 7 = 16 + 8 = 15 + 7 =

8 + 9 = 17 + 7 = 13 + 9 =

Please continue to practise your reading books.
