Uniform

Academy Uniform

At Towngate Primary Academy, we promote a smart appearance for all our pupils in the hopes of instilling pride into our children. Wearing a uniform encourages pupils to be ready for learning and provides a sense of belonging for all.
If parents have any difficulty in purchasing the uniform, please do not hesitate to contact the academy office and we will do our best to support parents/carers.
Our uniform provider is ‘The Box’, which is located in Ossett Town centre.

We ask that all pupils’ uniform is clearly labelled to avoid lost items.

Wakefield Uniform Exchange

Good quality pre-loved uniform is available from the following uniform exchange initiatives:

Clothing

Children are asked to wear the following uniform:

– A navy blue jumper or cardigan
– A white polo / formal white shirt
– Grey or black trousers, shorts, skirt or a pinafore dress
– Blue and white check summer dress
– Black, grey or white socks
– Grey, black or white tights

Shoes

We ask that all children wear plain black school shoes. Trainers may only be worn on the designated PE day. Children should not wear shoes with heels, open toed sandals, flip flops or wheelies as these are not safe for wear at school.

PE / Sportswear

We ask that pupils come prepared with the necessary kit for PE which includes:

– Trainers
– Black / navy shorts
– A plain white t-shirt
– Plain navy jogging bottoms (outdoor only)
– Plain navy jumper / zip up jumper (outdoor only)

Jewellery

If choosing to wear earrings, children are asked to wear stud earrings only. Children are able to wear a watch, however we ask that during PE watches are removed and earrings are either removed – or covered with a plaster if these cannot be removed – to ensure the safety of the child.
